HISTORIC PHOTO EXHIBIT TO BE SHOWN
DURING UNCLE DAVE MACON DAYS


MURFREESBORO, TN -- Macon Memories, a historic photo exhibit, will be shown during the Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival that will take place from July 11-13,  2008 in Cannonsburgh Village. The exhibit will be shown in the Cotton Warehouse in Cannonsburgh. Cannonsburgh Village is on Front Street located behind the NW Broad Street Shoney's.Macon Memories is a collection of Middle Tennessee history in photography. It traces the fifty-year career of Dick Shacklett who was a retired Murfreesboro businessman and photographer. The exhibit includes photographs from the 1860's through the mid 1950's. Relics and photographs of Uncle Dave Macon and the era he lived in will be on display. Dick Shacklett once said that old photographs are often the only mementos people have of their ancestors and one of the few ways families have of teaching younger generations about history.
